This series is designed for supervisors by supervisors. On the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month, colleagues will offer quick tips to help make your work life easier and your teams more effective. The tips will be practical and easy to digest. They are to help us “do-learn-do”: try something out, adapt and improve, and then do again. They will often include an article, video, podcast, or a MO Learning course. This series is all about investing just a few minutes to make our work a bit better. You will also find a library of the “Smarter, Not Harder” Series content in MO Learning.

Developing and delivering an initiative – especially complex ones involving multiple actors – and requires project management. Project management cannot be left to luck, gut, or chance: complex initiatives involve too many moving parts and interdependencies to be managed informally across multiple players. Instead, project management requires clear definition of scope, success, accountabilities, stakeholders, key activities and milestones, performance measures & targets, and risks, and then rigorous, fact-based management of the initiative.
